Barely a week after successfully completing the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon, the People’s Own Savings Bank (POSB)’s Athletics Team took on the Commander Air Force of Zimbabwe’s Charity Fundraising Marathon staged on Saturday 8 July 2023 in Hatfield, Harare.

The marathon was held to raise funds for the construction of Simuchembu Secondary School in Gokwe North. The POSB #BlackHawks were proud to take part in the event and represent the POSB brand. With runners and walkers from different organizations, the Black Hawks, as the POSB athletics team is affectionately known, ran with determination and dedication, demonstrating that they were more than just bankers.

“We are thrilled to have participated in this event and to have contributed to such a worthy cause,” said Shepherd Dandara, the team captain. “It was an honour to represent POSB and to make a difference in our community. Indeed, the Commander Air Force of Zimbabwe’s Charity Fundraising was a sight to behold.”

POSB is committed to promoting healthy living, staff wellness and giving back to local communities by participating in sports activities and charity initiatives.

The team is an inspiration to the Bank and we can’t wait to see what they will achieve next.
